There is a light at the end of the tunnel for Christina Namacala who just less than a year ago, was struggling to provide the basic necessities for her two biloogical children and 18 orphaned neices and nephews.
Today, Christina has renewed hope and energy, a direct result of a loan entrusted to her by Opportunity International Ghana. With a new and improved catering business, and a plan for increased productivity as a soya bean farmer, Christina is on her way. Higher quality seeds mean an increase yield. An employer for seasonal workers, Christina’s goal is to grow her farming businesses so that one day, she can employ her children. When she is not tending to the business of a farming operation, you will find her in her catering kitchen, preparing meals that are welcomed by farmers from the rural areas surrounding Gurue, Ghana.
Cristina says: “Before joining Opportunity Bank, I faced so many challenges. It was extremely difficult to feed the children properly and to buy medicine when they were sick. Paying school fees and buying uniforms for the children was next to impossible. Today, almost at the end of my first loan cycle, I am already seeing the changes in my family life. I no longer struggle to feed the children. They do not go to bed hungry. I am able to care for them because my catering business has grown. The Opportunity bank has restored my childrens’ and my smile as well as our dignity. I am very keen to continue building a strong relashionship with the bank in the future.”
Christina, all of us at Opportunity International are keen to partner with you for the long haul, and we do believe that dreams come true.
For eighteen special children, that dream is YOU
